Using myriad media, Luke Strosnider continually re-asks questions such as "What do photographs reveal about the things they represent?" Now On View: September 8th-30th, 2007 takes the form of an installation of camera obscura projections of the world outside the gallery presented in the gallery space. The intent is twofold: to inspire thought about the differences between viewing photographs and viewing the world, and contemplation of the role of the gallery space as a place of visual experience. Strosnider’s artwork has been shown in many solo and group exhibitions, most recently at Hallwalls Contemporary Art Center (Buffalo) and the Action/Interaction: Book/Arts Conference at Columbia College (Chicago). His work has been acquired by the collections of the University of the Arts (Philadelphia), the Cleveland Institute of Art, and the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University, among others. Additional information can be found on the artist's website at www.lensless.net. Now On View: September 8th-30th, 2007 will be on display until September 30th, 2007. Gallery hours are Friday through Sunday 12-5pm.
